Fifteen years after the release of Enchanted, a real-life and fairytale animation movie from Disney, comes its highly anticipated sequel—Disenchanted.

The movie’s trailer shows how hard a married life is for Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) and his husband Robert (Patrick Dempsey) as they settle in a suburban home. Was it a happily never after instead?

Disenchanted is a continuation of the events in Enchanted, where, as the family adjusts to their new home, Giselle soon realizes that the magical life she once knew is no longer present. So, desperate to bring back her enchanted life, she turns to Andalasia (her fairytale place) to wish for a fairytale life in her new town.

This, however, did not turn out as expected as the magic had gone wrong and turned out to be causing chaos between both worlds. Even in its poster, the trailer hints at Giselle turning into an evil stepmother.

In a scene, Giselle is seen telling her stepdaughter, Morgan, how her wish for a fairytale life has gone wrong. She, however, added, “… or terribly right.”

Alongside Adams and Dempsey, James Marsden and Idina Menzel will also be portraying their original roles in the film as Edward and Nancy.

Disenchanted remains an American live-action/animated musical fantasy romantic film. This sequel is directed by Adam Shankman and is written by Brigette Hales from a story by J. David Stem, David N. Weiss, and Richard LaGravenese.

A decade and a half of waiting has surely not been wasted in vain, as Disenchanted arrives on Disney+ on November 24.
